 The number of people that go into foreclosure every week in North America is staggering.  Most people don’t believe the numbers because they are so high.  But the goal of buying a property cheap is to get them before they actually get foreclosed on.  Preforeclosure leads are available through a number of sources.  You can actually buy preforeclosure leads on the internet for your state, town or city.

If you like to do the investigative work, preforeclosure leads can also be found at every courthouse in the country.  When people are serviced notice by the bank or lending institution because they haven’t paid their mortgage payment, these notices are often legal documents that must be filed and put on record.  You can go to the courthouse and actually search files to get all necessary information on future foreclosures.

The most common route of getting preforeclosure leads is to actually buy them.  The problem with this method is you don’t know how many other people have purchased the list.  What that means is there are multiple people chasing the same property and trying to market to the ones in preforeclosure to sell them their property at an under market price.
